In Merriam Webster dictionary the word Innovation stand for the “introduction of something new , a new idea, method, or device”,pic for few days I am thinking about one device that has changed my life, my mobile phone(I-phone from Apple) Is with me since February 2008 but only In the last 2 weeks I left the office without my laptop, after 17 years I finally manage to detached from the laptop, this is a great opportunity to write about innovation, the power of technology and new ways to connect with people.

I have used many of the smart phones since 2003, but it was never a good replacement to my laptop, keyboard was too small, the lack of power and the number of applications were not enough also the battery died after few hours of heavy usage.

iphoneBut now I use the I-phone for almost all communication and for entertainment, I’m using it for regular calls and IP calls, for SMS, Twitter, Chat, IM, internet, Facebook and other communities, for the first time I feel that the mobile phone can replace the PC and maybe the TV, Radio, Music, video, books, news and games. . . in large part of the my day this is all I need, even the author Deepak Chopra write with his books using his blackberry.

I love technology and I admire companies that built product with such innovation such as Apple, they give me a lot of inspiration to take personal development, mentoring and coaching to the mobile world with Interactive application that will combine podcasts, video’s questionnaires and dashboards and will allow us to practice anytime and anywhere and improve our lives.

Opportunities Are Now Here

greenAs I get ready for an important board meeting today, I realize that now people tend to be more conservative. We realize that the economy has changed and that there’s less and less room for optimism. It’s better to be on the safe side and communicate the fears to the public and share holders or the downside of the business rather than the upside.

As a chairman, my role is to mentor the CEO, to lead the strategy and manage the board meetings and decision on short, medium and long term view of the business but in today’s world I find board members trying to help the firm survive these hard times instead of looking for opportunities to grow. We all know that “opportunities are nowhere” is written with the same letters but with different spaces as “opportunities are now here“, and I think that it is the time to show leadership and spread some optimism, so that good businesses will grow and that the economy today, like a burnt piece of timber, would act as the ground for future soil / businesses to grow faster.
